Qualifikationen

• Degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Optical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience setting up, aligning, and characterizing optical experiments.
• Experience with bulk-, micro-, and fiber-optical systems.
• Experience handling, cleaning, aligning, and bonding sensitive optical components.
• Knowledge of optical simulation and system-analysis tools (e.g., Zemax OpticStudio, MATLAB, Python).
• Structured and independent working style with ownership of complex development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset.
• Good communication and documentation skills; professional English.

Aufgaben

• Develop optical and fiber‑optical systems from concepts to implementations.
• Define optical system architectures, requirements, interfaces, budgets, and verifications.
• Estimate and optimize performance using simulations and analytical models.
• Perform tolerance and error-budget analyses for manufacturing and alignment effects.
• Assemble micro-optical systems with cleaning, handling, alignment, bonding and curing.
• Carry out active and passive alignment of bulk, micro, and fiber components.
• Lead MAIT activities for optical systems from prototype to manufacturable processes.
• Support integration with optoelectronics, electronics, and software teams.
