AI:AT - the AI Factory Austria - is making Austria a hotspot for Artificial Intelligence in Europe.

AI:AT is a joint project of AIT and Advanced Computing Austria. It brings together top-level expertise in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and data ecosystems, creating an interdisciplinary innovation environment for research, development, start-ups, and industrial projects.

AI:AT - the AI Factory Austria - provides access to cutting-edge AI infrastructure, promotes trustworthy AI and ethical standards, and serves as a hub for networking with national and European partners. The goal is to work with partners from industry and public institutions to develop and implement forward-looking AI technologies and viable AI solutions.

As part of the collaboration within the AI Factory Austria, INiTS - Vienna’s High Tech Incubator will delegate experts to the AI Factory Austria. For our location in Vienna, we are seeking a:

AI:AT - AI Factory Austria
  • Mentor and advise teams on designing, building, and optimising AI pipelines with a focus on applied ML, responsible AI principles, and engineering best practices.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver advanced AI training formats, including workshops and custom content on LLM fine-tuning, distributed model training, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) setups.
  • Provide guidance on infrastructure and tooling for production-ready AI solutions, including model versioning, orchestration, CI/CD, and scaling across compute environments (e.g. HPC, cloud, hybrid).
  • Support the development of AI applications end-to-end, with emphasis on domains such as intelligent search and information retrieval.
  • Collaborate with curriculum and product teams to align training content with evolving startup needs and product-market relevance.
  • Actively contribute to the technical community through demos, knowledge-sharing formats, and lightweight internal documentation.
  • 5-7 years of industry experience designing and deploying ML solutions, ideally including production use cases
  • Proven ability to deliver technical training formats with clarity and hands-on depth
  • Strong proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn
  • Familiarity with distributed computing platforms (e.g. Spark, Ray, Dask), and orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or Metaflow
  • Experience with containerization (Docker), infrastructure orchestration (Kubernetes, SLURM), and ML pipeline automation (MLflow, Weights & Biases)
  • Hands-on expertise in fine-tuning, quantisation, pruning, and evaluation of large language models (LLMs) and RAG-based systems
  • Ability to work independently, drive initiatives, and collaborate across teams including curriculum and marketing functions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
  • You should be eligible for working in Austria.
