Medior / Senior Laravel Developer at Awoostria

Allow me to introduce myself…

Hi! I’m Diego (Dot, DoggoDot), and I’m the Head of Technology at Awoostria. Due to my technical background, I’ve always had a heart for development, and I play a crucial role within Awoostria and its IT department.

I am responsible for managing every digital aspect of Awoostria that you will come across, a rewarding but also a significant and time-consuming challenge! That’s why I am looking for Laravel developers that are ready to take Awoostria’s services to the next level. Sounds challenging? Read on.

About the position

We’re looking for a Laravel Developer to join our small but productive team. Most Awoostria services are built with Laravel, MySQL, Livewire, Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js. Our storage is managed with Scaleway S3, and we make use of Stripe for our payment processing.

You’ll spend time improving our existing services and developing new features.

About our team

The IT department is a small, but fast-paced and fully remote team. You will be in active contact with our IT Lead and Executive Board. Most of us have a full-time job as well, so you aren’t expected to be active 24/7. However, since we are a fully remote team, you must be able to work autonomously, whilst keeping your teammates up-to-date through our project management board (Linear), and our Telegram group.

What we expect from you:

You call yourself a medior or senior Laravel developer
Currently, we do not have the capacity to train entry-level or junior developers

In-depth knowledge of the Laravel framework, its first-party ecosystem, and common third-party packages

Extensive experience with PHP

You understand how to efficiently design (relational) MySQL databases & tables whilst keeping performance and scalability in mind
Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a MySQL guru

Experience with writing feature and unit tests with PHPUnit or Pest PHP

Experience with version control systems; we use Git
You should know how to manage feature branches, pull requests, and how to resolve merge conflicts

You have an excellent command of English, both written and spoken
We don’t judge accents! Most of our team aren’t native English speakers.

Bonus points if you have experience with:

Designing and developing (RESTful) APIs

Tailwind CSS and front-end design

Leading other developers
