Jobbeschreibung
About the role

We are seeking a highly capable and safety-focused leader for the position of Manager – Warehouse and Distribution, based in Brisbane at our Queensland Head Office in Cannon Hill (relocating to Windsor in March 2026).

This role is responsible for leading national warehousing and distribution operations across three major manufacturing sites: Helidon (QLD), Tocumwal (NSW), and Kalgoorlie (WA).

This is a critical leadership role that ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient movement of highly regulated blasting materials — including detonators, boosters, and initiation systems — to customer sites across Australia.

The role works in close partnership with Orica’s Mining Services Area and Territory Management teams, who oversee customer relationships and contract delivery, to ensure consistent and reliable supply to hundreds of operational sites nationwide.

What you will be doing

Lead and manage warehouse and distribution operations across three manufacturing sites.

Oversee the safe receipt, storage, and dispatch of raw materials and finished goods.

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations governing the transport and storage of explosive materials.

Ensure the highest operational discipline across the discrete supply chain network at Orica sites, customer locations, and with Orica’s contracted carriers.

Support the daily management of Class 1 carrier contracts, including hosting regular commercial meetings, incident response coordination, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage a team of 4 direct reports and 40–50 indirect reports across multiple locations.

Maintain robust systems and processes for inventory control, transport scheduling, and regulatory reporting.

What you will bring

A safety-first mindset, with a strong commitment to safe operations across both Orica and carrier networks.

Proven experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution management, ideally in a regulated or high-risk industry.

Strong leadership skills with experience managing large, geographically dispersed teams.

Understanding of compliance and safety requirements related to the transport and storage of hazardous goods.

Exceptional organisational and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.

Experience with ERP systems and logistics software.

A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to operational excellence.
