Job summary

INNIO Group in Austria's Tirol invites an engineer with broad expertise in engine performance and combustion to join the enabling technologies team. You will lead R&D projects, define future gas engine concepts, and collaborate across performance, emissions and controls teams to push cutting-edge technologies.

With 7+ years in reciprocating engines, you will analyze test data, run 1D models (GTPower or similar), and work with external partners.

Qualifications

• Master degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of work experience in performance and combustion development for reciprocating engines.
• Extensive experience in 1D performance modelling (GTPower or similar) and test-data analysis.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Engineering lead for gas engine R&D projects; define future engine concepts with focus on combustion and performance.
• Compare technologies in feasibility studies; create business cases and define performance requirements.
• Plan and execute simulation and testing activities; interpret results with performance, emissions and controls teams and partners.
• Identify risks and mitigation actions for new technologies early in product development.

Your Responsibilities

• Engineering lead for various gas engine R&D projects focusing on new technologies. Define future engine concepts for all products with special focus on combustion technologies, performance and alternative fuels
• Compare different technologies in feasibility studies, set up business cases and define performance and combustion requirements
• Definition, coordination and execution of simulation and testing activities concerning new technologies and interpretation of the results. Close cooperation with the performance, emissions and controls teams and external research partners like LEC or similar.
• Identify risks and mitigation actions for new technologies in an early stage of product development

Your Profile

• Master Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• More than 7 years of work experience in performance and combustion development for reciprocating engines
• Extensive experience in 1D performance modelling of reciprocating engines (GTPower or similar) and analysis of engine test data.
• 10% travel may be required
