ISG International Service Group in Austria is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead laboratory operations for construction materials and ensure project quality on site. You will manage testing, sampling, and QC across ongoing and upcoming projects.

The role requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Materials background, extensive experience in material testing, and strong leadership to guide a local team while remaining hands-on when needed.

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Manager for a well-established international construction company with long-standing operations across Africa. The business provides end-to-end services in planning, design, engineering, construction, operation, and maintenance for major building, infrastructure, and industrial projects. With more than 50 years of experience and a strong market reputation, the company is recognized as an important player in the construction sector. This position offers the opportunity to lead laboratory operations and quality control for construction materials, playing a key role in ensuring technical excellence and project quality on site.

• Take full responsibility for the laboratory operations and ensure reliable quality control for construction materials across ongoing and upcoming projects


• Lead and develop a local laboratory team while also remaining hands-on in testing, analysis and technical evaluation when needed


• Ensure that materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates meet project specifications, international standards and client requirements


• Coordinate sampling, testing, reporting and follow-up activities with project teams, production units, and quality stakeholders


• Drive fast and practical solutions for material-related non-conformities and support projects with sound technical recommendations


• Help strengthen laboratory structures, workflows, documentation and quality standards in a dynamic operational environment

Your Profile:

• Education in Civil Engineering, Construction Materials Engineering or a comparable technical background; alternatively, a strong laboratory background with extensive relevant experience


• Experience in construction materials testing and laboratory management, ideally in road, bridge, concrete or infrastructure projects


• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate local teams while maintaining high technical standards


• Hands-on expertise in material testing, interpretation of results and quality control processes for construction materials


• Structured, practical and resilient personality with strong communication skills and the ability to work in an international project environment
