Job summary

The Insect Pest Control Laboratory at Seibersdorf, part of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre, seeks an Laboratory Cleaning Attendant to maintain a clean and functional lab environment. You will clean and sterilize labware, assist with diet preparation, and help with equipment maintenance, supporting insect rearing activities and research.

Requirements include completed secondary education, at least one year of professional cleaning experience, and basic English.

Qualifications

• Completed secondary education is required.
• Proof of relevant educational certificates must be provided.
• A minimum of one year of professional cleaning experience is required.
• Experience in laboratories, hospitals, restaurants, offices, or healthcare facilities is desirable.
• Ability to safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 kg.
• Basic oral and written command of English.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean and sterilize insect rearing equipment according to established standards.
• Dispose of waste products appropriately and maintain hygiene.
• Assist with diet preparation and maintenance/repair of rearing equipment.
• Monitor and report on expired consumables and identify missing or broken equipment.
• Assist with stock keeping and shelving to maintain an organized laboratory.
