Job Description

In this role, as a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for key areas of our digital transformation. You will help us to generate added value from existing and new solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem – from Microsoft 365 through to the Power Platform, workflow automation and robotic process automation (RPA), right through to modern AI and agent-based solutions. Working alongside the business departments, you will identify opportunities for digitalisation, develop future-proof solution architectures and manage external implementation partners from the initial concept through to live deployment. Furthermore, you will shape the further development of our software and solution architecture, establish development, architectural and quality standards, and develop a future-proof technology stack for digital solutions, automation and AI. In doing so, you will support the use of modern AI-driven development approaches and ensure that both traditionally developed and AI-generated solutions meet the highest standards in terms of quality, maintainability, security, scalability and compliance.

• Advising management and specialist departments on technology decisions and digitalisation projects
• Promoting a company-wide culture of AI and automation
• Identifying, evaluating and prioritising opportunities for AI and automation, and developing target visions and the basis for technology decisions
• Strategic development of the Microsoft 365, Power Platform, automation and AI landscape, including the definition of target architectures, development guidelines, quality standards and governance models
• Design and implementation of innovative solutions based on Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Claude, Azure AI Services and other large language models
• Establishment and further development of a company-wide strategy for workflow automation and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), as well as the design and implementation of modern automation solutions using Power Automate, Power Apps and other low-code technologies
• Defining and establishing development, testing, review and release processes, as well as standards for AI-supported software development and citizen development
• Managing and providing technical guidance to external implementation and consultancy partners
• Monitoring market trends and evaluating new technologies in the fields of AI, low-code and automation
• Several years’ professional experience as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, Lead Consultant or in a comparable role within the industrial sector
• In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem, in particular Microsoft 365, Azure and Power Platform
• Experience in defining software architectures, development standards, testing and review procedures, and quality assurance for software and automation solutions
• Experience in the design and implementation of enterprise solutions in cloud and AI environments
• Practical experience with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Claude or comparable solutions
• Experience in the field of workflow automation and robotic process automation
• Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (in particular Power Automate, ideally Power Apps and Power Pages)
• Experience in integrating enterprise systems via APIs, Microsoft Graph, data platforms and modern integration architectures
• Experience in the technical leadership and management of external implementation and consultancy partners
• Knowledge in the areas of governance, security, compliance and data protection
• Ability to communicate complex technical content clearly to specialist departments and management
• An independent, structured and solution-oriented approach to work
• Excellent command of German and English

Nice to have

• Certifications in Microsoft Azure, Power Platform or AI
• Experience with AI agents, Agentic AI, multi-agent systems and AI-supported software development (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or similar tools)
• Knowledge of RPA platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere or Power Automate Desktop
• Experience with process mining and business process management
• Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, PLM or ERP processes
• Experience in setting up citizen development programmes and low-code governance models
• Project management experience in international transformation projects

Your annual salary is based on your previous professional experience and educational background and starts at €75,000 gross per annum on a full-time basis, with the final salary depending on your qualifications and experience.
