VusionGroup is seeking an IoT Application Engineer to advance embedded C++ and BLE on Linux gateways for a leading retail tech platform. The role focuses on cloud-to-device communication, gateway logic, and integration with external access points.

The position requires 3+ years of C/C++ in embedded or IoT projects, with hands-on Linux and testing experience. It offers a fast-paced environment, global collaboration, and opportunities for growth across a 19-country footprint.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of C/C++ application development in embedded/IoT or similar R&D.
• Experience with BLE and gateway/access-point systems is beneficial but not required on day one.
• Strong hands-on C/C++ development in embedded Linux environments.
• Experience with cross-compilation, SDKs, version control and testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C/C++ applications for embedded Linux gateways.
• Implement cloud-to-device communication and gateway logic.
• Integrate Bluetooth controller interfaces and third-party platforms.
• Analyze runtime performance and fix issues.
• Verify BLE host–controller and end-device communication.
• Develop automated tests for integration and system testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C/C++ applications and services for embedded Linux gateways.
• Implement cloud-to-device communication and gateway application logic.
• Integrate Bluetooth controller interfaces and third‑party access point platforms.
• Analyze runtime, performance and communication issues.
• Verify BLE host‑controller and end‑device communication.
• Develop automated tests for application and system integration.
• Improve software quality, security, reliability and maintainability.
• Support cross‑platform builds, releases and partner integration.
• Evaluate product maturity through alpha, beta and system‑level testing.
• Troubleshoot laboratory findings and customer‑reported application or communication issues.
• Support test automation, regression coverage and verification environment stability.
• Document interfaces, technical decisions, known limitations and troubleshooting findings.
• Identify technical risks, propose countermeasures and communicate status and dependencies.
• Support BLE/RF coexistence and performance analysis with domain experts when required.

Education

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant C/C++ application development in embedded, IoT or comparable product-oriented R&D.
• Gateway, BLE and access point experience is beneficial; deep BLE specialization is not required from day one.
• Strong hands‑on experience in C/C++ application development.
• Experience with embedded Linux and debugging on target hardware.
• Experience with cross‑compilation, SDKs, version control and testing.
• Python, BLE analysis tools and Bluetooth Core Specification knowledge are advantages.

Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of Linux processes, threads, IPC and networking.
• Understanding of IoT gateway architectures and end‑to‑end communication.
• Practical BLE knowledge and willingness to deepen gateway and controller expertise.
• Strong technical understanding and analytical problem‑solving skills.
• Ownership mindset with high standards for code quality, reliability and maintainability.
• Ability to model complex solutions and explain technical findings clearly.
• Pragmatic, structured approach to improving established systems.
• Collaborative communication with internal teams and external partners.
• Curiosity and willingness to expand knowledge of BLE, IoT and embedded technologies.
