Job summary

INNIO Group in Jenbach, Tirol, Austria, invites a motivated Mechanical Engineering student to join a full-time internship of at least six months starting in 2027. You will work with a dynamic engineering team to improve the steady-state and transient performance of internal combustion engines through simulation and testing.

The role covers 1D simulation with focus on turbocharging and gas exchange, in-house testing on single- and multi-cylinder engines, data interpretation, literature research,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Good basic knowledge of internal combustion engines.

Responsibilities

• Work in a motivated engineering team to improve steady-state and transient performance of internal combustion engines through simulation and testing.
• Support innovative gas engine development projects with focus on performance improvements, cost out, and operating strategies.
• Support 1D simulation activities with emphasis on turbocharging and gas exchange.
• Support in-house testing on single- and multi-cylinder engines, focusing on mixture preparation, gas exchange, and turbocharging.
• Analyze investigation results and field data, including interpretation, conclusions, and reporting.
• Conduct literature research to support ongoing projects.
• Cooperate closely with other functions such as controls, design, mechanical engineering, exhaust gas aftertreatment, and test benches.

Your Responsibilities:

Your Profile:

• Student of Mechanical Engineering or similar
• High motivation and ability to work independently
• Enthusiasm and good basic knowledge of internal combustion engines
• Basic skills to work in a global matrix organization
• Good communication skills in English

The internship is a full-time position for at least 6 months starting in 2027. The base pay is composed of the amount according to the Austrian collective agreement which is at least EUR 2.755,26 gross per month (x 14).
