OSCE Secretariat in Vienna is seeking an international external consultant to analyze and develop a joint report on sustainable mine water management in Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Basin. The role emphasizes environmental law, chemistry, and international standardization, with a focus on Ukraine context and English drafting proficiency.

Qualifikationen

• P4 expertise level
• Master's or higher degree in a relevant field
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in environmental issues
• Experience in international activities regarding environmental issues
• Deep understanding of international standardization processes; familiarity with technical committees
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team
• Experience working on Ukraine is an asset
• Gender awareness and ability to integrate a gender perspective
• Excellent knowledge of English; Russian/Ukrainian would be an asset
• Excellent writing/drafting skills
• Digital literacy and proficient use of Microsoft Office

Aufgaben

• Identify and review advanced international analogues regarding discharge solution projects.
• Conduct chemical analysis of highly mineralized effluents to identify components.
• Propose scientifically substantiated options with cost-benefit analysis against the 'do nothing' scenario.
• Identify and analyze analogues for extraction of valuable components from mineralized waters.
• Prepare proposals for technological and regulatory solutions for extraction.
• Determine possible use cases for extracted valuable components.
