A boutique hotel in Richmond is seeking a full-time Hotel Duty Manager to oversee operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have over two years of supervisory experience in hospitality, strong leadership skills, and a passion for the hotel business. Reporting directly to the Hotel Operations Manager, this is a high-impact leadership role for someone ready to step up, lead from the front, and be mentored into a future Front Office Manager position. You’ll be the glue between our front desk, housekeeping, and guest experience, helping to guide the daily rhythm of the hotel while ensuring every shift runs smoothly and every guest leaves feeling cared for.

Overseeing Front Desk and Housekeeping operations across each shift to ensure a smooth, efficient, and service-focused hotel experience.
Acting as the senior decision-maker during shifts, managing all aspects of the hotel in the absence of senior leadership.
Coordinating daily arrivals, departures, and room allocations, including early check-ins, late check-outs, and VIP guest preferences.
Monitoring housekeeping progress, room readiness, and public area presentation, working closely with housekeeping supervisors to meet timing and quality standards.
Managing Hilton and PMS systems PEP) to complete end-of-day tasks, reporting, guest billing, and reconciliation.
Conducting daily shift briefings, allocating tasks, and providing handovers to ensure continuity across all touchpoints.
Supporting group bookings and events, liaising with sales, housekeeping, and F&B teams to deliver smooth, on-brand guest experiences.
Responding to guest complaints or incidents with professionalism and confidence, escalating when necessary, and following up to resolution.
Maintaining cash handling procedures, balancing floats, and reviewing financial transactions accurately at the front desk.
Completing incident reports, maintenance logs, and shift summaries, and escalating urgent issues to management as required.
Providing on-the-job training and mentoring for front office and housekeeping team members, reinforcing service standards and SOPs.
Upholding brand standards by living The Motley’s personality – blending five-star polish with a warm, personal touch.
Previous 2 + years experience in a hotel front office or supervisory role.
