Job summary

Erste Digital GmbH is seeking a Head of Department to lead operational security, network and infrastructure services within a banking group. You will own the performance, evolution and resilience of critical connectivity and protection capabilities while driving Zero Trust adoption and group-wide scalability.

You will partner with identity, architecture and incident response teams to ensure dependable services and continuous improvement, balancing security with usability and delivery speed.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in operational security, network or infrastructure platforms responsible for business-critical technology services.
• Proven track record of improving operational reliability, resilience, change quality and incident handling in high-availability services.
• Sound understanding of modern network security, Zero Trust concepts and enterprise connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational performance and evolution of critical connectivity and protection services (VPN, firewall, intrusion prevention, WAF, DDoS protection, Zero Trust access, privileged access).
• Establish operational excellence across availability, resilience, lifecycle management, change quality, capacity and recovery readiness.
• Drive transition toward identity-, device- and context-aware access while keeping existing services stable.
• Ensure incidents and degradations are handled decisively with clear escalation, learning and preventive improvement.
• Create interfaces with identity, architecture, detection, incident response, exposure management and technology operations for cross-functional collaboration.
• Think Group First: design capabilities for Group-wide consumption and reuse across entities.
