About the job

This is a full-time on-site role for a Head of Finance (M/F/D) at FAT International in Vienna, Austria. In this role, you take ownership of the finance function for FAT International and its global subsidiaries and develop it into a scalable platform that keeps pace with the speed at which our company grows. We have just closed a strategic equity raise and plan to rapidly scale FAT International to a global motorsport platform across verticals and geographies. Your role plays a key part in achieving this vision, thus, to foster and reward entrepreneurial thinking, the renumeration includes a VSOP. You will own group-wide accounting, reporting, consolidation and cash management across the entities, and you will shape the processes, controls and systems that carry a multi-entity structure through its next stage of growth.

You will be the strategic sparring partner to our founders and management, turning financial data into decisions on capital allocation, new formats, new markets and new verticals. You will act as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders as well as investors. The vision for this role is simple: as the company grows, so does the finance function you have shaped and your scope and responsibility grow with it.

Role Responsibilities

• Group Ownership: Take full ownership of group-wide accounting, financial reporting, cash management, treasury and liquidity planning across FAT International and its global subsidiaries.
• Processes & Systems: Design and implement the financial processes, controls and systems a growing multi-entity structure requires, from invoicing and bookkeeping to approval workflows and internal controls, and scale them as the group grows.
• Automation & AI: Build a finance function that is lean and agile; identify where workflows and processes can be automated with AI and similar tools and implement them.
• Financial Planning: Build our budgeting, forecasting and planning capability across all entities and verticals, and steer financial performance against plan.
• Founders & Investors: Act as strategic finance partner to the founders and turn financial data into actionable insights for management and investors, making sure every stakeholder has the numbers, transparency and context they need to make decisions.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and scaling a finance function in a start-up or scale-up environment. You have set up reporting, forecasting and finance processes yourself rather than stepped into an established setup.
• Genuine comfort in a greenfield setting with fast-changing priorities and a high degree of ambiguity.
• Solid knowledge of multi-entity and holding structures, consolidation across legal entities, Austrian accounting standards (UGB) and international, cross-border tax matters.
• Strong track record in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management, as well as in steering external tax advisors and auditors.
• High affinity for automation, AI and modern finance technology with the ambition to build a finance function on top of it.
• Startup mentality with a hands-on, structured way of working: as comfortable with day-to-day accounting as with a strategic conversation with investors, and with strong communication skills in German and English (written and spoken).

For this role we offer a gross annual salary starting at € 90,000, with willingness to overpay depending on qualifications and experience, plus a VSOP participation.
