Job summary

HUNTR is hiring for a leadership role in Austria (Graz) to guide the Control Plane team, owning backend, frontend and security initiatives. You will lead a distributed, async-friendly team delivering scalable API access and sovereign control across diverse deployments.

The role requires shipping production backend services, on-premise delivery experience, and strong architectural judgment. Remote-friendly with flexible arrangements and healthcare benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have led software engineers directly with performance ownership for 2+ years.
• Strong ability to review designs and find risk and failure modes.
• Experience shipping and operating backend services in production.
• Experience delivering software to environments controlled by customers (on-premise / air-gapped).
• Remote-first, async-friendly communicator with document-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team spanning backend, frontend and security work; manage 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Own the end-to-end roadmap; teams own services, SLAs, costs, on-call, and impact.
• Deliver the public API developer experience for defense and enterprise integrators.
• Build licensing instrumentation and per-tenant behavior visibility.
• Ship access control features: SSO, RBAC, and admin tooling for sovereign environments.
• Represent the team in architecture reviews; own the stack you commit to.
• Maintain the operational bar for availability, latency, and incident quality.
