ISTA is expanding its Chemistry Support Facility (CSF) near Vienna to oversee and advance its instrument portfolio and infrastructure services. You will manage operations and lead a small expert team to deliver high-quality chemistry support across research projects.

The role requires an advanced degree in Analytical Chemistry and proven lab management experience, with strong communication and budgeting skills. A hybrid work arrangement and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifikationen

• Advanced degree in Analytical Chemistry or related field with substantial experience.
• Proven track record in managing a core facility or lab environment.
• Hands-on experience with analytical instruments and techniques; broad instrumentation knowledge.

Aufgaben

• Oversee operations of the Chemistry Support Unit ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Lead and develop a team of currently 4 colleagues (experts & lab managers).
• Collaborate with researchers on advanced technologies and infrastructure services.
• Develop strategies to optimize facility workflows and introduce innovative methods.
• Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation; plan and execute maintenance schedules.
• Provide training and user support on instrument use and good laboratory practice.
• Coordinate with administrative units on lab planning, regulations, and safety.
• Manage budgets, resources, quotes, and project billing.
• Stay current with advancements in experimental chemistry and integrate innovations.
