Job summary

AGRANA Group in Austria is seeking a Group Category Manager Chemicals to drive strategic and tactical procurement across the Chemicals category for the entire group. You will define category strategies, analyze markets, manage supplier lifecycle, and work with internal stakeholders.

The role requires a university degree, at least five years in procurement in chemicals, proficiency in SAP and MS Office, willingness to travel about 20%, German C1 and English B2, and offers Vienna or Tulln location

Qualifications

• University degree in business, supply chain, logistics, engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in strategic and tactical procurement within the chemicals industry.
• Strong analytical and results-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of working time.
• German native/C1 and English at least B2.

Responsibilities

• Assume strategic responsibility for the Chemicals category across the AGRANA Group.
• Develop and enhance the category strategy with market analyses, KPIs and stakeholder alignment.
• Implement strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal business functions.
• Manage supplier lifecycle: identification, qualification, evaluation, development, and contract management.
• Execute tactical procurement activities: demand planning, tendering, price and contract negotiations, documentation.
• Manage framework agreements and master data and monitor implementation.
• Support group-wide projects and procurement initiatives.
• Prepare regular performance reports and provide management with analyses and recommendations.
• Coordinate cross-divisional procurement activities related to chemicals.

AGRANA is also one of today’s leading sugar companies in Central and Eastern Europe.

To strengthen our Corporate Purchasing, Logistics & Supply Chain team at our locations in Vienna or Tulln, we are looking for a Group Category Manager Chemicals (m/f/d) to join us at the earliest possible date on a full-time basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic and tactical procurement management as well as the development of the Chemicals category across the AGRANA Group.

Your Responsibilities

• Assume strategic responsibility for the Chemicals category across the AGRANA Group
• Develop and continuously enhance the category strategy, including market analyses, KPIs, identification of optimization potential, and alignment with relevant stakeholders
• Implement strategic initiatives in close collaboration with internal business functions
• Manage the entire supplier lifecycle, including supplier identification, qualification, evaluation, development, and contract management
• Execute tactical procurement activities, including demand planning, tendering processes, price negotiations, contract negotiations, and documentation
• Manage framework agreements and master data, ensuring and monitoring effective operational implementation
• Support group-wide projects and procurement initiatives
• Prepare regular performance reports and provide management with decision-making analyses and recommendations
• Coordinate cross-divisional procurement activities related to chemicals

Your Profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification
• At least 5 years of experience in strategic and tactical procurement within the chemicals industry is a must
• Proficient in MS Office and SAP; experience with SRM systems is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills combined with a results-oriented approach
• Experience in project management and a high level of initiative
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of working time
• Native/C1 German and at least B2 English are required
