The Impact You'll Make

Lam Research AG Villach CSBG Clean is seeking a Hardware / System Engineer who will provide technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel. The role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems, software, or networked/wireless systems. You will respond to situations where first-line support has failed, report issues to engineering teams, and may be involved in customer installation and training. Experience with Lam CSBG Clean equipment (Spin Processor, DaVinci & DV-Prime) is preferred.

What You'll Do
  • Manage customer betas including installation, qualification, milestones, technical requirements, training, and certification of local teams/customers.
  • Support engineering and service products at both factory and field locations.
  • Work in customer wafer fabrication sites as needed.
  • Create and present reports on design, reliability, maintenance issues, software bugs, projects, and escalations.
  • Update documentation for field service engineers and customers.
  • Support reported product issues through problem reports.
  • Participate in Knowledge Management activities to share learning, reduce issues, and improve cycle times.
  • Support customers/users with highly technical or sophisticated products.
  • Represent Lam by creating and presenting technical findings to customers.
  • Work at the factory or in the field depending on needs.
  • Travel at short notice (up to 24 hours) as required.
Who We're Looking For

Applicants should be willing and able to:

  • Work in confined spaces and cleanroom environments.
  • Wear and function in full personal protective equipment.
  • Work with chemicals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical education in electronics, mechatronics, engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics.
  • Completion of HTL in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% worldwide.
What We're Offering

The position is based in Villach, Austria, and is covered by the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry, in occupation groups E or F depending on education. Salary is negotiable based on experience and skills, paid 14 times annually. For more details, see the 'Employment in Austria' section.
