Mercor is seeking experienced German Linguistic Experts to join a cutting-edge AI research project led by a leading research lab. The role focuses on evaluating German-language tasks and curating high-quality German linguistic data to train and improve model understanding and generation.

You will assess LLM-generated German text, edit content to meet linguistic standards, and annotate texts for grammatical and semantic features. Remote collaboration with distributed teams is expected.

Qualifikationen

• Native or near-native fluency in German with strong grammar and stylistics.
• Experience in literary editing, copywriting, criticism, or NLP-related linguistic annotation in German.
• Understanding of literary complexity, tone and genre conventions; awareness of regional language variations.
• Interest in AI, translation technologies, or LLM-driven language research (preferred).
• Impeccable attention to detail and ability to identify translation errors or awkward phrasing.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate LLM-generated German text across use cases (translation, editing, etc.).
• Edit, refine, or rewrite German content to meet linguistic, cultural, and literary standards.
• Annotate German texts for grammatical, syntactic, semantic, and stylistic features.
• Identify model errors and collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance in German.
• Provide detailed literary and linguistic feedback to guide model training and evaluation efforts.
