Overview

Alumni Global is proud to partner with Healthscope in the appointment of the General Manager of Peninsula Private Hospital. This is a high-impact executive leadership opportunity to lead one of Healthscope’s key private hospitals in Queensland. We are seeking a strategic and purpose-driven leader with the capability to deliver sustainable performance across clinical, financial, and cultural domains.

This role is ideally suited to a values-led executive with a background in health operations, strong commercial acumen, and a passion for person-centred care. You will be a pivotal figure in advancing the hospital’s reputation as a leading provider of private healthcare services.

Located in Kippa-Ring on the Redcliffe Peninsula, Peninsula Private Hospital is a cornerstone of the Healthscope network in Queensland. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of services, with a strong focus on surgical, medical, and rehabilitation care. It enjoys long-standing relationships with Visiting Medical Officers, a committed workforce, and a growing community profile.

Peninsula Private Hospital is also undergoing a significant redevelopment, due for completion in early 2026. This investment will deliver four new operating theatres (one having opened in September), two new procedure rooms, a five-bed High Dependency Unit and a refurbished Medical Ward. These upgrades will expand the hospital’s surgical and diagnostic capabilities, support higher-acuity patient care, and create a more modern and efficient environment for patients and staff.

With an emphasis on innovation, safety, and service excellence, Peninsula Private is well-positioned for its next phase of strategic growth and operational development.

About the Role

As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational leadership of the hospital. This includes ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care, strengthening business performance, and cultivating a workplace culture aligned with Healthscope’s values.

You will drive the hospital’s service excellence and market expansion agenda, leveraging strong relationships with clinicians, our people, health district, and the community. This role demands both visionary leadership and disciplined execution, balancing commercial priorities with a genuine focus on patient and staff experience.

  • Leading operational and financial performance to achieve KPIs and budget targets.
  • Driving clinical quality, accreditation outcomes, and continuous improvement.
  • Leading workforce strategy, development, and engagement.
  • Building and sustaining high-value partnerships with VMOs, government, and community stakeholders.
  • Identifying growth opportunities through new clinical offerings and capital projects.
  • Championing service excellence and Healthscope’s ‘Safe Values’ culture.
About You

You are an experienced health executive with a record of success in leading complex operations. With a keen understanding of hospital management, you bring a results-driven mindset balanced by emotional intelligence and a strong commitment to people leadership.

  • Proven ability to lead sustainable performance across clinical, operational, and financial domains.
  • Experience in workforce leadership, stakeholder engagement, and organisational change.
  • Deep understanding of the private health sector, funding models, and NSQHS accreditation.
  • Confidence in managing governance, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • A proactive and resilient leadership style, able to thrive in fast-paced, high-accountability settings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and Postgraduate qualification.
  • Master’s degree or MBA (desirable).
  • Clinical or academic experience in health (advantageous).
