The Opportunity - General Manager Exploration

We've partnered with a solid company at a pivotal stage of growth. Backed by a strong asset base and a clear vision for value creation, they are now seeking a commercially savvy exploration leader to help unlock the full potential of its tenement holdings - not just through discovery, but through smart partnerships, transactions, and strategic positioning.

This is not a traditional exploration role. It requires someone who can think beyond drilling programs - someone who can assess the best pathway to value for each asset in the portfolio.

Whether it's through in-ground exploration, joint ventures, farm-ins, divestments, or acquisition opportunities, this role is central to shaping the company's growth and capitalising on its extensive footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Value Realisation - Assess the portfolio and determine the optimal path to value for each asset: explore, develop, divest, partner, or acquire.
• Opportunity Origination - Actively identify JV, farm-in, or asset sale opportunities and bring them forward for evaluation by the commercial and executive team.
• Market Awareness - Maintain strong knowledge of the mining landscape, particularly operators adjacent to the company's tenements, and proactively identify areas of strategic alignment or consolidation.
• Technical Oversight - Lead exploration programs where appropriate, ensuring high-quality technical evaluation and prioritisation of targets with real commercial potential.
• Portfolio Management - Help shape and rationalise the company's landholding strategy to focus resources on areas of highest strategic value.
• Stakeholder Engagement - Build and maintain productive relationships with JV partners, regulators, communities, and internal teams.

What You Bring:

• 10+ years of mineral exploration and business development experience
• A proven ability to assess and unlock value from a large, multi-asset portfolio through exploration and/or transaction-led strategies
• Strong commercial instincts and understanding of how exploration decisions impact shareholder value
• A solid network and knowledge of mid-tier miners, with an ability to spot synergies and structure potential partnerships
• Experience engaging with internal stakeholders including executives, boards, and commercial teams
• Degree in Geology or related discipline, with a pragmatic and strategic approach to exploration leadership
