MERKUR Excellence GmbH is seeking a Game Designer to craft innovative casino game concepts and mechanics. You will work closely with mathematicians, software developers, and game artists to define features and gameplay flows, and you will document and guide the development through to market readiness.

You will shape game rules, bonus features, and the overall player experience while analyzing market trends to inspire new ideas and ensure engaging, balanced games.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Game Design, Media Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent qualification.
• Initial professional experience in game design or development is an advantage; motivated graduates are welcome.
• Passion for games with strong understanding of mechanics, UX, and balancing.

Your responsibilities

• As our Game Designer (m/f/d), you develop innovative game concepts and game mechanics for casino games in close collaboration with Mathematicians, Software Developers, and Game Artists.
• In addition, you create and maintain game design documentation, define game features and gameplay flows, and support their implementation throughout the entire development process.
• You define game rules, bonus features, and the overall user experience, ensuring all game elements contribute to an engaging and well-balanced player experience.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams, you bring creative ideas to life and support the development of market-ready products.
• Last but not least, you analyze existing games, market trends, and player preferences, using your insights to inspire and shape new game ideas.

Your profile

• Degree in Game Design, Media Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification
• Initial professional experience in game design, product design, or game development is an advantage; motivated graduates are also welcome to apply
• Passion for games and a solid understanding of game mechanics, user experience, and game balancing
• Structured and creative working style with the ability to document and communicate ideas clearly
• Excellent English skills, both written and spoken (German is an advantage)
• Team player with a proactive mindset and a passion for developing innovative game ideas within a multidisciplinary team
