Acclaro is seeking 2 experienced Freelance German MTPE Linguists (English to German) to support IT and software localization projects. This remote freelance role offers paid, project-based work for native-level German writers with MTPE or linguistic review experience.

Responsibilities include post-editing MT content, translating when needed, ensuring linguistic accuracy, terminology consistency, and adherence to client style guides and glossaries, across IT, SaaS, and cloud content.

Freelance German Linguist - IT & Software Project Acclaro is currently recruiting 2 experienced Freelance German MTPE Linguists, English to German , to support ongoing international IT and software localization assignments. This paid, remote freelance opportunity is ideal for language professionals with native-level written proficiency in German and experience in machine translation post-editing, translation, or linguistic review. You will help ensure that localized software and technology content is accurate, fluent, consistent, natural, and appropriate for German-speaking users. If you combine strong German writing skills with IT or software localization experience and enjoy working with translation technology, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Position Overview

• Language pair: English to German
• Specialization: IT, software, SaaS, cloud computing, and technology content
• Experience: At least 3 years of relevant professional localization experience
• Contract type: Freelance / Independent Contractor
• Engagement type: Paid, project-based freelance assignments
• Location: 100% remote

Responsibilities

• Post-edit machine-translated IT, software, SaaS, cloud, and technology content from English into German.
• Translate content from English into German when human translation is required.
• Review localized content for linguistic accuracy, fluency, terminology, consistency, naturalness, style, and completeness.
• Apply client-specific terminology, style guides, translation memories, reference materials, and quality requirements.
• Identify and resolve linguistic issues while preserving the meaning, intent, and technical accuracy of the source content.
• Collaborate with Acclaro's Project Management and linguistic teams and complete accepted assignments within agreed deadlines.

Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in German .
• Full professional proficiency in English, including the ability to understand technical source content.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in translation, localization, machine translation post-editing, editing, or linguistic review.
• Demonstrated experience with IT, software, SaaS, cloud computing, or related technology content.
• Excellent knowledge of German grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency across large volumes of content.
• Experience following client glossaries, style guides, translation memories, and project-specific instructions.
• The ability to work independently, communicate proactively, and meet agreed deadlines.
• Familiarity with CAT tools and professional localization workflows.
