Job summary

AUSTRIA JUICE Group is seeking a Flavour Analyst for our Kroellendorf location. You will bridge instrumental analysis and flavour development within our innovation team, driving flavour compound analysis and method validation.

You will conduct GC-MS/GC-FID analyses, prepare results for flavourists, and support GC-O identifications. Strong German and English communication, 2–3 years of GC-MS experience, and a degree in chemistry or related field are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemistry/food chemistry/food technology/biotechnology or related field.
• 2–3 years of hands-on GC-MS-based flavours or trace analysis experience.
• Proficiency with GC-MS, GC-FID, HPLC, and extraction methods; method validation.
• Nice to have: GC-olfactometry, flavour chemistry, MS database software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze flavour compounds by GC-MS and GC-FID; perform quality control of raw materials.
• Coordinate analytical requests and prepare results for flavourists; GC-O identification of odour-active components.
• Develop and validate modern analytical methods; sample prep and extraction (SPME/SPME-Arrow, SPE, LLE).
• Investigate root causes of quality, off-flavour and stability issues; maintain instrument infrastructure.
• Maintain analytical reports and SOPs; contribute to innovation and customer projects.

For our location in Kroellendorf we are looking for a motivated personality ready to join our Flavour Development department as Flavour Analyst (all genders).

As the analytical backbone of our innovation team, you work at the interface between instrumental analysis and flavour development.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Analysis of flavour compounds by GC-MS and GC-FID·Quality control of complex raw materials
• Coordination of analytical requests and preparation of results for the flavourists·GC-olfactometry (GC-O) to identify key odour-active components
• Development and validation of modern analytical methods
• Sample preparation and extraction (SPME/SPME-Arrow, SPE, LLE, flash chromatography)
• Root cause analysis of quality, off-flavour and stability issues
• Responsibility for the instrument infrastructure (GC-MS, GC-FID, autosamplers)
• Maintenance of analytical reports and SOPs plus contribution to innovation and customer projects

WHAT YOU BRING

• Degree in chemistry/food chemistry/food technology/biotechnology or a related field
• At least 2–3 years of relevant hands‑on experience in GC-MS-based flavours or trace analysis
• Confident in the use of hyphenated GC techniques (GC-MS, GC-FID, GC-O) as well as HPLC, extraction techniques (SPME, SPE, LLE) and method validation
• Nice to have: GC-olfactometry, flavour chemistry, MS database software (NIST, MassHunter, ChemStation)
• Independent, structured way of working with high quality standards and strong communication skills
• Business‑fluent German and very good English
