Responsibilities

• Develop business cases, forecasts and scenarios for Investment Committee decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and longer-term planning across the portfolio.

ENERGY MARKET ANALYST – SOLAR PV & RENEWABLE ENERGY – AUSTRIA

Are you an analytical finance professional who wants your work to influence how renewable-energy assets are assessed, planned and developed? Do you want to move beyond producing reports and take ownership of the analysis behind investment decisions, asset performance and commercial strategy?

The Opportunity

An established renewable-energy business is appointing an Energy Market Analyst to strengthen the analysis & forecasting to drive profits for its solar PV portfolio and provide critical information for investment decisions.

This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of asset performance, financial planning and investment decision-making. You will work with senior stakeholders across Europe maximise portfolio performance, and build the models, processes, and systems to facilitate efficiency and decision making into the future.

For a driven individual, the role offers scope to take ownership of the developing energy-markets function and build broader exposure across investment, finance and asset management over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive operational revenue across the fleet
• Create industry leading asset operational forecasting processes, incorporating energy markets analysis/quantitative analysis
• Educate senior executives related to market drivers and material commercial trends.
• Own critical models for investment decisions, asset valuations, project lifecycle performance, and asset divestment planning.
• Develop business cases, forecasts and scenarios that strategic and Investment Committee decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and longer-term planning across the portfolio
• Take increasing ownership of the analysis that shapes asset strategy, investment priorities and portfolio decision-making.
• The role offers real progression into one of four areas: Developing the internal energy-markets function, move into investment management, specialise within asset management, or increase responsibility within group finance over time.

About You

• Experience in financial analysis, controlling, corporate finance, transaction advisory, banking, energy or an industrial environment.
• Strong Excel and financial-modelling capability, including the ability to build robust models independently.
• Experience with forecasting, budgeting, valuation, business-case analysis, commercial reporting or scenario modelling.
• Commercial understanding of how the balance sheet, profit and loss account and cash flow interact.
• Able to analyse complex results, identify key drivers and communicate practical recommendations to stakeholders.
• Proactive, accurate and comfortable taking ownership of analytical workstreams.
• Fluent German and English are essential.
• Renewable-energy experience would be beneficial, although strong transferable commercial-analysis experience will be considered.
