Job summary

Quantum Technology Laboratories GmbH in Vienna seeks an hands-on Expert for secure implementation of QKD systems to design, build, wire, and commission compact control cabinets and related PLC software. You will enable reliable, safety-compliant automation across quantum communication hardware.

The role spans electrical design, panel assembly, PLC programming, testing, and documentation, with a focus on practical, secure implementations and certification readiness.

Qualifications

Apprenticeship in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or automation; university degree not required.
Experience creating electrical schematics with CAD software.
Experience programming small PLCs; safety PLCs are advantageous.
Able to work independently with safe working practices.

Responsibilities

Electrical design: create schematics, cabinet layouts, BOMs, terminal plans.
Panel assembly and wiring: install components, route cables, label equipment.
PLC programming: develop, modify, troubleshoot small PLC apps, safety logic.
Testing and commissioning: electrical checks, functional tests, validation.
Documentation and improvements: as-built drawings and test records.
