At the Faculty of Physics, the university seeks to appoint a Tenure Track Professor in Mathematical Physics.
The position:
The university aims to strengthen its Mathematical Physics research group through a Tenure Track position. The ideal candidate will focus on applying modern geometric and algebraic methods in quantum field theory and gauge theory, with expertise in algebraic geometry applied to supersymmetric gauge theories, vacuum structures, magnetic quivers, mirror symmetry, dualities, and embedding these theories in brane constructions within superstring theory. The candidate should have some teaching experience, a proven ability to secure high-level third-party funding, and international academic experience. Responsibilities include teaching Mathematics, Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at undergraduate and master levels, including the Vienna Master Class Mathematical Physics, and active participation in the Vienna Doctoral School and the Erwin Schrödinger International Institute for Mathematics and Physics.
The candidate is expected to acquire proficiency in German within three years for teaching and committee participation.
