Overview

Jetstar is seeking an experienced and driven Data Business Analyst to lead data and analytics initiatives. This role blends strong skills in data analysis and BI with deep business analysis expertise, working across technical and business teams to define KPIs, business rules, and data solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to unlock the full spectrum of customer data that supports data analytics and reporting needs. Our Data Business Analyst will take ownership for leading the Business Analyst practice, working as part of an Agile BI delivery team to facilitate the end-to-end capture and delivery of information solutions at Jetstar. This is a full-time permanent opportunity based at our head office in Collingwood, Melbourne, with flexible hybrid working (3 days onsite).

Working on challenging and exciting business initiatives within Data and Analytics team.

There is an ongoing recruitment campaign with growth as Jetstar expands its fleet and routes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and lead business requirement gathering sessions to collect in depth first-hand business problems
• Create scope for tasks or projects and necessary artefacts required. Set the correct timelines and expectations after discussion within the team
• Strong stakeholder management and business engagement skills
• Develop proof of concept BI models and prototypes to prove solution feasibility
• Preferable experience on MSBI/Snowflake stack
• Undertake detailed research and analysis and translate requirements into accurate epics and user stories with acceptance criteria
• Establish the tools, templates and procedures required to provide a high level of support to BI Analysts at Jetstar
• Be the first point of User Acceptance testing before handing it over to business
• Partner effectively with stakeholders to elicit and document business objectives, processes, scope and specific use-cases that will drive product development
• Active participation in product backlog prioritization and product planning processes
• Lead the acquisition and profiling of new data sources
• Act as a member of the Agile delivery team, supporting the technical and architecture functions with respect to core solution development, coordination of acceptance testing and release management

To be considered for this role, you will have

• Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments and leading cross-functional data delivery teams
• Experience creating detailed BRD, HLD, and LLD artefacts to support project execution
• Understanding of data testing, reference data management, and data quality practices
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake
• Familiarity with ERP, EPM, DBT (data build tool) for transforming and modelling data
• Experience using Power BI for dashboard development and analytics delivery
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)
