Are you a seasoned Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary who can bring calm and commercial judgement to fast-growing technology consulting business? Do you enjoy partnering with founders and boards, shaping strategy, and keeping an ASX-listed group ship-shape? This full-time, permanent role could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
We’re on the lookout for a pragmatic, people-centred CFO who can balance robust governance with the agility our consultants — and our clients — expect.
As CFO & Company Secretary you’ll join the Executive Leadership Team, report to the CEO and manage a focused finance function (one direct report plus specialist advisers). Your mandate is simple but critical: provide a safe pair of hands while enabling growth.
Based in Brisbane, you will:
Own all statutory and ASX reporting, audit, tax and treasury activities, ensuring we meet every deadline with zero surprises.
Shape the three-year strategic plan and rolling forecasts, translating vision into numbers, scenarios and practical trade-offs.
Lead budgeting, cash-flow, working-capital and capital-management disciplines (including dividend, share-buy-back and equity-incentive decisions).
Drive continuous improvement in finance systems, BI dashboards and project-level profitability reporting.
Partner with consulting, sales and delivery teams to price projects intelligently and lift margins.
Act as Company Secretary for market announcements, board packs, AGM preparation and policy updates.
Prepare the organisation for its “next curve” — acquisitions, new service lines, annuity products — including due-diligence and integration.
Lead and develop a small, high-performing finance team; coach the wider business on commercial acumen.
You’ll inherit processes that already work and have room to refine them — without having to rebuild from scratch.
Is this role right for you?
Must-haves
CA, CPA or equivalent with 10+ years post-qualification — including senior leadership in an ASX-listed or similarly regulated environment
Deep knowledge of AASB, IFRS, Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules and Australian tax.
Demonstrated delivery of clean audits, on-time market releases and robust cash-flow management.
Strong financial-modelling skills and the ability to turn insight into action
Proven ability to act as Company Secretary, including board-minute capture, AGM coordination and policy governance.
A confident, plain-English communicator who can engage founders, consultants, investors
Hands-on, unflappable under pressure, and willing to say “no” when governance demands it — yet adept at finding pragmatic ways to say “yes”
Nice-to-haves
Experience in professional-services or project-based revenue models
Familiarity with Xero
Prior responsibility for M&A due diligence and post-deal integration
Involvement in an IPO, de-merger or other major capital-market event
