Job summary

Oregano Systems in Vienna is seeking a software engineer to extend the syn1588 PTP technology stack and develop related applications and APIs. The role involves collaborating with software, hardware/FPGA, and PCB teams and participating in international projects.

You will work with modern C++, C, and Python on Windows and Linux, with a hybrid work model including 1–2 home days per week and up to 32 hours over four days.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in C++, C, and Python.
• Experience with Windows and Linux development.
• Familiarity with Git/Jenkins/Docker/CMake/NixOS workflows.
• Understanding of IEEE 1588/PTP and NTP networking.

Responsibilities

• Improve and extend the syn1588 PTP technology stack and contribute to its software quality.
• Develop related applications and APIs and contribute to software integration with SoC FPGA platforms.
• Collaborate with colleagues across software, hardware/FPGA, and PCB design, sharing technical decisions and knowledge.
• Participate in international projects and exchange technical information with partners and customers in English.
