Business Development Representative (EMEA – UKI)

This position is 100% remote and will be based in either Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, or Ireland.

Overview of this role

GitLab is seeking an enthusiastic and strategic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing Revenue Marketing team. As a BDR at GitLab, you will lead initial outreach to targeted Enterprise accounts, working closely with the Field and Digital Marketing teams, as well as Sales and Customer Success teams. Your role involves using creative marketing and sales tactics to prospect and engage with various buyer personas and roles, introducing GitLab’s value. You will be responsible for generating qualified meetings and pipeline for GitLab’s Sales organization. Our BDRs come from diverse backgrounds, including those with experience in closing roles or team management.

We provide extensive onboarding and training, including necessary DevOps and GitLab knowledge to succeed in your role.

What you’ll do in this role

  1. Execute outbound prospecting initiatives effectively
  2. Conduct high-level discovery conversations in target accounts
  3. Meet or exceed BDR sourced Sales Accepted Opportunity (SAO) volume targets
  4. Collaborate with teammates to develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging to drive opportunities
  5. Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, create compelling events, and develop accounts using industry knowledge
  6. Engage prospects through various touches (call, email, social media) using Outreach.io
  7. Manage, track, and report activities and results using Salesforce
  8. Document processes in the GitLab handbook and update as needed with your Business Development Manager
  9. Work with Field and Corporate Marketing to drive attendance at regional events
  10. Participate in field marketing events to engage participants, identify opportunities, and schedule meetings
  11. Mentor new BDR hires in navigating key accounts
  12. Collaborate with Digital Marketing to develop targeted marketing tactics for your assigned accounts
  13. Partner with the Sales Team to prospect strategically within their territories

We’re looking for

  • Experience working with the Enterprise UKI segment
  • Positive, energetic phone skills, excellent listening, and strong writing skills
  • Ability to meet or exceed KPIs daily, weekly, and monthly
  • A self-starter with credible achievements
  • Alignment with GitLab’s values
  • Knowledge of business processes, roles, and organizational structures
  • Determined personality with a desire to grow and succeed
  • Passion for GitLab’s mission
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Previous experience in tech, sales development, marketing, or sales is a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken English (mandatory)
