Job summary

Biomotion Technologies in Vienna seeks an engineering leader to own the architecture of our bioprinting platform, guiding CE marking, series production and future generations. The role splits time between concept work and hands‑on engineering, reporting to the CTO.

You will work with our CAD, electronics, software and assembly teams to ensure architecture translates into buildable hardware. CE compliance will be a design input from day one.

Qualifications

• A degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or similar, plus a few years of product development.
• A track record of electromechanical products taken to manufacture.
• Demonstrable ability to simplify systems: smaller, cheaper or more reliable products.
• Experience managing requirements across disciplines and defending the line under pressure.
• Strong systems view and enough electronics to wire up and test prototypes.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and CAD practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the system architecture and trade‑offs between subsystems, document decisions and rationale.
• Drive development prioritisation and protect the critical path.
• Translate research needs and CE requirements into clear product requirements.
• Develop concepts from sketch to 3D print to metal part in fast test cycles.
• Decide make or buy, select suppliers and work with machine shops.
• Design for manufacturing, assembly and certification with CE in mind.
• Review design for compliance gaps with regulatory partners.
• Collaborate with CAD, electronics, software and assembly teams to build testable hardware.
