Job summary

SKAN offers a four-year apprenticeship with a dual training approach. The program includes a basic year in electronics/automation at Gewerbeschule in Basel, followed by internal automation department training. Apprentices gain exposure to product testing, project management, and customer interaction.

It emphasizes strong German and English skills, high math/physics grades, and the possibility of vocational baccalaureate, with flexible international exposure in later years.

Qualifications

• Good grades in mathematics and physics.
• Very good knowledge of German.
• Good knowledge of English; other languages an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Year 1 takes place externally in the basic year of electronics/automation at Gewerbeschule in Basel.
• Training continues in various internal automation departments.
• Insights into product testing and project management.
• Build automated control systems and test products.
• Contact and advise external customers.
• Frequent exchanges with project managers and engineers.
• From year 3, potential trips to customers at home and abroad.
