Overview

The Careers are Better at Hungry Jack's! Join Our Team as an Assistant Accountant at Hungry Jack's! Hungry Jack's, one of Australia's most iconic and exciting QSR brands, is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll play a key part in managing cash and bank reconciliations, supporting the finance team with month end tasks, and ensuring accurate reporting. You will partner with the Development, Marketing, District and Restaurant Managers, and I.T. departments to ensure smooth operations and best practice processes across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant with a passion for process improvement and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Cash Reconciliations by store with daily reporting to operations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations completed monthly with variances followed up in a timely manner
  • Month-end specific P&L accounts analysis and commentaries
  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Process and account for delivery aggregator commissions, receipts and fees
  • Monthly accruals, prepayments and allocation journals
  • Providing accurate and timely reporting to the business in line with Hungry Jack's requirements and Accounting Standards
  • Assist in audit processes as required
  • Document key processes for all areas of responsibility
  • Support the FP&A team in preparing annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts
  • Continual improvement of systems and process
Skill/Experience Requirements
  • 2+ years' work experience in an accounting role (high volume transaction business preferred)
  • Business degree in Commerce or Accounting
  • CPA or CA qualification. (or currently being undertaken)
  • Experience with mainstream ERP systems, Excel (Advanced user) and other software packages.
  • Experience in monthly P&L and Balance sheet preparation and reporting including; bank reconciliations, prepayments and accruals
  • Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and to assist with the key deliverables
  • Sound attention to detail with demonstrated attitude and thoroughness of work standards
  • Analytical with preferably a strong understanding of accounting standards and statutory requirements
  • Demonstrates sound communication and interpersonal skills to develop healthy and effective working relationships with a small team of colleagues.
  • Experience in large complex organisations.
