Institute of Molecular Biotechnology is seeking an IT Application Specialist to design, develop, and operate applications across the full stack including Python, Java, Jira Cloud, data pipelines and BI dashboards. You will transform business needs into robust, well-documented technical solutions with an emphasis on AI-assisted development.

The role covers API design, data modeling, and deployment using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools, while enabling secure coding practices and scalable

Qualifikationen

• Three+ years in application development or integration.
• Strong Python or Java experience with the other language familiarity.
• Knowledge of software architecture, APIs, and automated testing.
• Proficient SQL, data modeling, and data integration.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Jira Cloud configuration and BI tools experience.
• AI-assisted coding and AI workflow experience.
• Independent, proactive, and structured with changing priorities.
• Excellent English communication; German is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Develop and maintain internal applications and integrations using Python, Java, and web technologies.
• Evaluate, implement, and operate company-wide applications.
• Gather requirements and translate user needs into technical solutions.
• Design and maintain APIs, webhooks, batch processes, interfaces, and data flows.
• Configure Jira Cloud projects, workflows, and automations.
• Work with SQL databases, data models, and ETL/ELT processes (Snowflake preferred).
• Create dashboards and analytics with Sigma Computing or equivalent BI tools.
• Deploy and operate applications using Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and hosting platforms.
• Implement secure coding, authentication, secrets management, and audit logging.
• Use AI tools and LLM APIs in development; maintain documentation and provide user workshops.
