AUSTRIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GMBH is seeking a Scientist to design, test, and qualify next generation aeronautical batteries. You will work on high-level battery concepts, algorithms, and coupled simulations, interfacing with European partners and institutions.

The role requires a PhD or MSc with strong publication record, advanced programming skills (Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++), and experience with battery modelling and testing.

Qualifikationen

• PhD-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline, with a focus on battery design and testing.
• Alternative MSc-level qualification with relevant professional experience may be accepted.
• Proven track record with publications in high-ranking journals.

Aufgaben

• Support development of next-generation aeronautical batteries from cell to pack.
• Develop and test physics-based AI/ML methods interfacing physical and virtual testing.
• Interface with European institutions and international partners on large-scale projects.
• Publish results in high-ranking journals and support colleagues in publishing.
• Supervise PhD and masters students.
