Zusammenfassung

USound GmbH in Vienna is seeking a MEMS/mechanical engineer to advance our novel MEMS microspeaker modules. You will work on 3D modelling, FEM simulation and acoustics, developing designs in SolidWorks and COMSOL, and collaborating with an international team.

The role offers flexibility, a dynamic, collegial environment and opportunities to explore non-linear piezo behavior, materials research, and performance optimization.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years of industry experience.
• Fluency in English (B2+); German is a plus.
• Experience CAD/CAM and simulation tools – Matlab, COMSOL Multiphysics and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of acoustics and COMSOL FEM is a plus.
• Creative and proactive mindset.

We are leaders in acoustic solutions based on MEMS speakers. Since 2018, we have been enabling our customers to bring new revolutionary audio products to the market. USound achieves this through radical miniaturization, power reduction, and increased production efficiency.

We are looking for a reliable and committed team player to join our R&D team in Vienna. Profile: MEMS, acoustics or mechanical engineer with a focus in 3D modelling, FEM simulation and computational acoustics. The person in this position is part of developing new integrated MEMS speaker module solutions pushing loudspeaker technology in a new aera.

Responsibilities

• Product development of novel MEMS microspeaker
• Development of new designs and concepts in Solid Works and Comsol Multiphysics
• Deeper investigation of system design and acousto-mechanic concepts
• Performance optimization using different modelling strategies based on lumped element modelling and FEM
• Characterization of prototypes with Laser-Doppler-Vibrometer or coordination/supervision of characterization activities
• Research of new materials and processes to improve product performance
• Collaborative work in an international team

Experience and Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Acoustics, Physics or comparable
• Ideally 1 to 2 years of industry experience
• Fluency in English (at least B2 level) is necessary, German is a plus
• Experience in CAD/CAM design and simulation tools – e.g. Matlab, COMSOL Multiphysics and Solid Works or similar
• Experience and knowledge of acoustics and COMSOL FEM is a plus
• Creative – out-of-the-box thinking to push USound technology further
• Interest in new technologies
