Job summary

ecosio GmbH is seeking an accounting professional in Austria to manage records, reconciliations, closings, and statutory reporting. You will work within a remote-first environment and support the finance team to ensure accurate financials.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of accounting experience, a commercial degree, and may hold an Accountant certificate. German language skills are advantageous; familiarity with BMD or Workday is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completed commercial graduation (HAK/Bachelor/Master’s degree) required or advantageous.
• 2-5 years accounting experience.
• Accountant certificate advantageous.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Team player capable of meeting tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of BMD and/or Workday is a plus.
• Fluency in German is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Financial record management across AR, AP, GL, FA, payroll-related accounting, invoices and payments.
• Prepare and maintain regular balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and intercompany accounting.
• Assist with statutory reporting, VAT, and regulatory filings.
• Ensure internal controls and SOX documentation and continuous process improvements.
• Support year-end financial statements and audit evidence.

Job Description

• Financial Record Management: Managing, analysing, and maintaining accurate financial records and transactions across accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), fixed assets (FA), general ledger (GL), employee expenses, travel, and payroll-related accounting. This includes processing incoming and outgoing invoices, monitoring payments and receivables, and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded and documented.
• Reconciling Accounts: Preparing and maintaining regular balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, credit card, payroll, intercompany, and other relevant accounts. Investigating discrepancies and ensuring open items are resolved accurately and on time.
• Managing Closings: Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, intercompany accounting, and other closing-related tasks to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting..
• External & Statutory Reporting: Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory and regulatory requirements, including VAT and tax-related filings, statutory financial statements, and reports to national banks, statistical offices, and other relevant authorities. Coordinating with external accounting, payroll, and tax advisors where required.
• Regulatory Compliance & Controls: Ensuring accounting activities and financial reporting comply with applicable local GAAP requirements, internal policies, and US GAAP reporting requirements. Performing and documenting assigned internal controls, including SOX controls, and supporting the continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
• Year-End Audit & Financial Statements: Supporting the preparation of annual financial statements and collaborating with external and internal auditors by preparing required financial information, documentation, reconciliations, and audit evidence.

The minimum salary for this position in Austria is 50 000€ / year. Your actual salary will be determined by your experience and location.
