Cowboy Space Corp. in San Carlos, CA, seeks an experienced RF Engineer to design, develop, and validate RF hardware for space-based communications.

You will own board-level RF circuitry from architecture to flight qualification, collaborating with electrical, PCB layout, firmware, and test engineers to deliver high‑performance subsystems for reliable space links. Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Photonics, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience designing RF circuitry for high-speed communication systems.
• Hands‑on experience designing RF circuits to drive optical communication links.
• Direct experience with free‑space/open‑space laser communication systems.
• Proven experience with 1 Gbps–50 Gbps RF links and RF PCB layout.

Responsabilidades

• Design RF driver and receiver circuitry for optical communication links up to 50 Gbps.
• Develop end-to-end RF signal chain architecture for laser drivers, modulators, and TIAs.
• Design high-speed RF/analog PCBs and specialized stack-ups for RF SI.
• Perform SI analysis, impedance matching, crosstalk mitigation, and eye-diagram optimization.
• Collaborate with optics and photonics engineers on electrical‑to‑optical interfaces.
• Support testing of free-space optical terminals and RF electronics.
• Conduct RF simulations and validate designs with lab measurements.
• Debug complex RF/optical system issues in lab and field tests.
• Work with mechanical/thermal/systems teams to integrate subsystems.
• Document decisions and contribute to design reviews and roadmaps.
• Stay current with advances in optical tech and RF components.
