Position Description

Bridgenext is seeking a talented and experienced Snowflake/Airflow Administrator to join our team. This role will focus on administering and monitoring Apache Airflow workflows, managing Snowflake environments, supporting data platform operations, and helping ensure reliable, cost-effective, and high-performing data services.

You would be working in Central US business hours and would also be part of the team providing on-call support for high-priority production issues related to data pipelines, Snowflake operations, and platform reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Airflow Administration & DAG Monitoring: Administer Apache Airflow environments, monitor DAG execution, troubleshoot failures, review task dependencies, and ensure reliable workflow scheduling and execution.
• Snowflake Administration: Manage Snowflake provisioning, user access support, warehouse configuration, resource usage, cost monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Data Pipeline Reliability: Support production data pipelines by investigating failures, coordinating issue resolution, improving operational visibility, and documenting repeatable support procedures.
• CDC and Streaming Integration Support: Work with Debezium and Kafka Connect to support change data capture and streaming data integration processes.
• Automation and Scripting: Use Python to automate administrative tasks, improve operational efficiency, and support troubleshooting activities.
• Infrastructure as Code Support: Use Terraform to manage and support data platform configuration and environment provisioning activities.
• Source Control and Collaboration: Use Git/GitHub for source control, branching, Pull Requests, PR reviews, and CI/CD-related collaboration.
• Problem Solving and Ownership: Independently identify operational issues, analyze root causes, recommend improvements, and drive problems to resolution.

Must Have Skills

• Airflow: Strong experience with Airflow administration, DAG monitoring, troubleshooting, scheduling, and operational support.
• Snowflake Administration: Experience with Snowflake provisioning, cost monitoring, warehouse usage review, access support, and performance tuning.
• Debezium: Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of Debezium for change data capture use cases.
• Kafka Connect: Experience supporting Kafka Connect connectors and related data integration workflows.
• Python: Ability to write and maintain scripts for automation, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Terraform: Working knowledge of Terraform for managing infrastructure or platform configuration.
• Git/GitHub: Experience with source control, branching, Pull Requests, PR reviews, and CI/CD collaboration.
• Problem Solving: Ability to independently identify, analyze, and resolve operational and technical problems.

Preferred Skills

• Azure Platform Familiarity: Exposure to Azure services and cloud-based data platform operations.
• SQL and Data Analysis: Ability to write SQL queries, analyze data issues, and support troubleshooting activities.
• Jira and Agile Methodology: Familiarity with Jira, Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and iterative delivery practices.
• SaaS/Multi-Client Environments: Experience supporting shared platforms, SaaS products, or multi-client operational environments.
• dbt: Familiarity with dbt for data modeling, transformation, and analytics engineering workflows.
