AgileEngine is seeking a Senior SDET to build and maintain web and API automation frameworks from scratch and define the automation strategy within squads.

You will design scalable architectures, implement API and frontend tests, and mentor engineers on quality practices while aligning with CI/CD and shift-left goals. This role offers flexible scheduling with remote and office options, and exposure to Fortune 500 and top product projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as an SDET Engineer.
• Strong programming skills in Java (developer-first QA).
• Extensive experience using REST Assured for backend testing.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright.
• Deep understanding of shift-left and CI/CD integration.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical direction on quality initiatives.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Framework Design: Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks from ground up for Web and API layers.
• Strategy & Leadership: Define automation strategy and ensure high test coverage within squads.
• Backend Validation: Create API automation suites to ensure microservices integrity.
• Frontend Validation: Implement and manage frontend automation scripts for top-tier UX.
• Coaching: Mentor engineers on testing best practices and foster a quality-first culture.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior SDET to build and maintain Web and API automation frameworks from scratch and define the automation strategy within the squads.

MUST HAVES

• 4+ years of experience as an SDET Engineer.
• Strong programming skills in Java (a "developer-first" approach to QA).
• Extensive experience using REST Assured for backend testing.
• Proven hands-on experience with Playwright.
• Deep understanding of the "shift-left" approach and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical direction on quality initiatives.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

• Previous experience in the Loyalty or Fintech sectors.
• Experience with performance or load testing (e.g., JMeter or Gatling).
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and SQL for data validation within test scripts.
• Experience working with mocking frameworks.
