Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer to develop backend services and APIs while modernizing application architecture. You will design and implement robust backend services in Java/Spring Boot and build the Angular frontend to connect to your backend logic.

You will lead the move to domain-driven design, architect RESTful APIs, and work with PostgreSQL/Oracle databases in cross-functional squads to deliver high-quality features and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid Angular experience and modern frontend-backend integration.
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and software design patterns.
• Extensive hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and standard API protocols.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and JPA/Hibernate.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with high-transaction systems.
• Proficiency in server-side architecture, performance, and scalability.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to develop backend services and APIs while modernizing application architecture.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Spend the majority of your time (approx. 70–80%) designing and implementing robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot.

- Build and maintain the supporting Angular frontend, ensuring a seamless connection between the UI and your backend logic.

- Lead the transition from traditional database-centric designs toward a domain-driven structure (DDD).

- Architect RESTful APIs that prioritize proper HTTP verbs and clean, scalable patterns over legacy RPC styles.

- Work within cross-functional squads to deliver high-quality features while maintaining the cohesive and proactive spirit of the team.

MUST HAVES

- 4+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot, along with solid working knowledge of Angular.

- A strong grasp of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and software design patterns.

- Deep experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, with a clear understanding of standard API protocols.

- Experience working with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL and Oracle, and JPA/Hibernate.

- Strong SQL skills to navigate and optimize very complex SQL, along with robust transactional database experience and a thorough understanding of enterprise-level, high-transactional platforms. Lacking this specific database proficiency will be a direct reason for rejection.

- A passion for server-side logic, performance, and architecture.

- Upper-intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

- Experience working with spec-driven development or related AI-Driven Software Development Life Cycle approaches.

- Previous experience in the Loyalty or Fintech sectors.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker).

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).

- Experience refactoring legacy structures into modern, domain-driven architectures.
