Job summary

Bechtel Argentina is seeking an Environmental Permits Manager to oversee obtaining and maintaining environmental and sectoral permits for large-scale mining and infrastructure projects. You will ensure compliance with national and provincial regulations, translate requirements into design criteria, and coordinate with engineering teams and authorities.

The role requires a university degree in Environmental Sciences or related field, strong regulatory knowledge, and extensive mining project

Qualifications

• University degree in Environmental Sciences or related field; 5–8 years in environmental management and permits.
• Professional registration in the jurisdiction.
• Graduate degree in environmental management, environmental impact assessment, or environmental law desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage permits workflow: prepare and update permits matrix, identify authorities, deadlines and processing timelines.
• Prepare and review Environmental Impact Report and biennial updates with supporting documentation.
• Manage sectoral permits: water use, effluent, emissions, hazardous waste and related regulatory aspects.
• Maintain dialogue with provincial and national authorities; respond to observations and audits.
• Ensure regulatory alignment between engineering design and environmental requirements.
