Job summary

Bechtel seeks a Senior Environmental Engineer in Argentina to manage permits, environmental compliance, and regulatory coordination for large projects. You will translate regulatory requirements into design criteria, oversee environmental baselines, and coordinate with engineering teams to ensure timely permit approvals and adherence to local laws.

Ideal candidates hold an Environmental Sciences degree with professional registration, and have 5–10 years of mining, energy or infrastructure

Qualifications

• Requires university degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Natural Resources, Geological or Biological Sciences with professional registration.
• Graduate degree in environmental management, environmental impact assessment or environmental law desirable.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the project permits matrix with deadlines and responsible bodies.
• Prepare, review and submit Environmental Impact Report and biennial updates.
• Manage sectoral permits: water use, effluent, emissions, hazardous waste, soil movement, vegetation, hazardous substances transport.
• Maintain dialogue with provincial and national authorities and respond to observations.
• Provide environmental constraints to engineering disciplines and ensure design compliance.
• Prepare progress reports on permits with status, risks and mitigations.
