Job summary

Prometeo Talent is partnering with a fast-growing US-based cybersecurity startup to recruit a Senior Backend Engineer. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems using Java and Python, and leveraging AI-assisted development workflows.

You will own features end-to-end, work on distributed architectures, and contribute to product evolution in a startup environment. 100% remote work with LATAM flexibility, a laptop provided, and generous PTO are offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering or backend development experience.
• 5+ professional experience with Python, building and maintaining production-grade backend systems.
• Strong experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM-based application development and AI-driven features preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems involving databases, APIs, message queues, and data pipelines.
• Take full ownership of features and services from design to monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems with reliability, performance, and maintainability in mind.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
