Avenga is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a technical background based in Buenos Aires to lead and coordinate complex technology initiatives across Infrastructure, Platform, Cloud, and Engineering teams.

The Project Manager will not implement technical solutions but must understand engineering challenges, facilitate decisions, and ensure successful outcomes in a hybrid environment.

Formación

• 5+ years managing technology projects with infra/platform/cloud software engineering teams, incl. OpenShift and migrations.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and ability to work in hybrid or predictive delivery.
• Technical mindset to understand engineering concepts and workflows.
• Experience using Jira, MS Project or similar tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication.
• Vendor and third-party management experience.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, execute, and control technology projects from inception to delivery with scope, timeline, milestones, and success criteria.
• Manage dependencies, risks, and impediments across streams and propose mitigations before blockers arise.
• Coordinate multiple teams in a matrix environment and align priorities through influence-based leadership.
• Provide executive-visible dashboards and reports for steering committees and decisions.
• Translate technical complexity into executive-level messages for business impact.
• Maintain a systemic view of decisions and adjust priorities accordingly.
• Manage vendor and third-party relationships and track commitments and SLAs.
• Ensure external dependencies are accounted for in the project timeline.
• Oversee budget tracking and financial visibility for stakeholders.
• Ensure documentation and traceability for audits and regulated environments.
• Drive continuous improvement of management processes and ceremonies.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with technical background based in Buenos Aires to lead and coordinate complex technology initiatives across Infrastructure, Platform, Cloud, and Engineering teams.

The Project Manager will not be responsible for implementing technical solutions but must possess enough technical knowledge to understand engineering challenges, facilitate decision-making, and ensure successful project outcomes.

This is you

• 5+ years of experience managing or coordinating technology projects involving Infrastructure, Platform, Cloud, or Software Engineering teams particularly those related to infrastructure, OpenShift, cluster migrations, or cloud migration initiatives and services.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and the ability to work within hybrid or predictive project delivery frameworks when required.
• Technical mindset with the ability to understand engineering concepts, software development workflows, infrastructure, and operations.
• Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with experience engaging operational teams, management, and senior leadership.
• Strong problem-solving and decision‑making capabilities, including the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Experience managing external vendors and third‑party technology partners.

Nice‑to‑have skills

• Experience with cloud‑native technologies and distributed systems, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, or Azure.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools, workflow automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Experience leveraging AI or automation tools to improve project management efficiency and team productivity.
• Experience working in regulated industries, particularly within financial services or banking environments.

This is your role

• Plan, execute, and control technology projects from inception to delivery, defining scope, timeline, milestones, and success criteria for each phase together with the Technical Lead.
• Proactively manage dependencies, risks, and impediments, anticipating blockers across streams (infrastructure, networking, security, development, QA) and proposing mitigation actions before they impact the schedule.
• Coordinate multiple teams working in parallel without direct reporting lines, achieving alignment on priorities and delivery commitments through influence-based leadership in matrix environments.
• Build and maintain executive‑level visibility of projects: progress dashboards, reports for steering committees, with a focus on required decisions rather than just status updates.
• Facilitate communication between technical teams and business areas, translating technical complexity into executive‑level messages focused on impact.
• Maintain a systemic view of the project, assessing how each decision or delay in one stream affects the overall plan, and adjusting priorities accordingly.
• Manage relationships with vendors and third parties involved in the project, if applicable, tracking their commitments, deliverables, and SLAs.
• Ensure external dependencies are accounted for in the project timeline and do not become unforeseen blockers.
• Oversee project budget tracking, controlling expenditure execution and ensuring financial visibility of initiatives for relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure documentation and traceability of the program: decision logs, change records, formalized deliverables, and execution evidence. This is especially critical in regulated environments where audits require full project traceability.
• Drive continuous improvement of management processes: incorporate lessons learned at the end of each phase, optimize follow‑up ceremonies, and standardize practices to scale the model for future projects.
