Job summary

Oowlish Technology is seeking a Senior Kafka/AWS Integration Engineer to help build and productionize an event-driven middleware platform. You will work across Kafka, MSK, Java, CDC, API Gateway, Lambda, and CloudFormation in a remote, international collaboration.

You will join a fast-growing Latin American company delivering projects for US and European clients, with strong emphasis on documentation, testing, and CI/CD excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development with Java and Kafka.
• Hands-on AWS experience including MSK, API Gateway and Lambda.
• Experience building and supporting production-grade event-driven integration pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Provision and configure Amazon MSK clusters, topics, and schema registry.
• Configure and maintain Kafka Connect and CDC source connectors.
• Build REST-based event ingress using API Gateway and Lambda to publish Salesforce events to Kafka.
• Develop Java stream-processing applications to transform data between Kafka topics.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated tests; ensure code quality.
• Create IaC with CloudFormation and document integration architectures.
