Prometeo Talent is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a fast‑growing US‑based cybersecurity startup. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Java and Python, owned end-to-end from design to production.

You’ll work on distributed systems, databases, and data pipelines, leveraging AI‑assisted workflows to boost productivity without compromising quality. The role emphasizes strong ownership, autonomy, and collaboration with a fast-paced team, with 100% remote work

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Python, building and maintaining production-grade backend systems.
• Strong experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM-based application development (AI agents, agentic systems, or LLM-powered applications).
• Experience building AI-driven features, LLM integrations, or agentic workflows in production environments is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalable architectures, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience working with databases, message queues, and data processing pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.

The Opportunity
