Job summary

Kake, a remote-first company, is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to build high-quality apps for iPhone, iPad, tvOS, and desktop platforms using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, performance improvements, and collaboration with product and design teams to deliver delightful, reliable experiences across Apple ecosystems.

You will own the iOS lifecycle, contribute to CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and engage in on-call duties while embracing remote work across time zones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial iOS development experience.
• Proficient in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit and Apple tooling (Xcode, Instruments).
• Experience with multi-developer workflows including App Store submission.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, JSON-RPC, gRPC, and WebSockets.
• Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and alerting best practices.
• Ability to translate Figma designs into polished interfaces.
• Experience with GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) or cross-platform architectures.
• Familiarity with shared component libraries and modular architectures.
• tvOS development experience.
• Strong problem solving and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable UI components, shared libraries, and modular architectures that support scalable application development.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements and Figma designs into polished, high-quality user experiences.
• Integrate data‑driven features using REST APIs, JSON‑RPC, gRPC, and WebSockets.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Manage the full iOS development lifecycle, from implementation and testing to App Store submission, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Integrate and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and contribute to continuous delivery processes.
• Develop tvOS components and features, including focus‑based navigation, remote interactions, and media playback using AVKit and AVFoundation.
• Contribute to cross‑platform development initiatives using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) or similar shared‑code architectures.
• Apply best practices in automated testing, integration testing, code coverage, monitoring, and alerting.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident management to support reliable production systems.

• Experience collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams and implementing Figma designs to specification.

• Familiarity with shared component libraries, SDK development, and modular application architectures.
• Experience with tvOS development, focus‑based navigation, remote interactions, and AVKit/AVFoundation or media playback optimization.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

• US Timezone Overlap: 6-8 hours overlap with PST.
