MAPLE LEAF HR&M is seeking an Investment Associate (Buyside) to analyze credit and equity opportunities in public and private markets with a focus on Emerging Markets and Latin America. You will build financial models, perform valuation and due diligence, and present recommendations to senior management.

The role offers exposure to senior leadership and portfolio companies across stages, with a competitive compensation package and a performance bonus.

Formación

We are seeking an Investment Associate (Buyside) for a leading international Asset Management firm operating across the US and Latin America. You will play an active role in analyzing credit and equity investments in public and private markets, focusing primarily on Emerging Markets and LatAm.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze public and private debt and equity investment opportunities.
• Build comprehensive financial models (projections, valuation, cash flow, scenario analysis) and perform quantitative/qualitative analysis.
• Evaluate capital structures, credit metrics, and covenants.
• Support due diligence processes alongside legal, financial, and technical advisors.
• Prepare Investment Memoranda and presentations for the Investment Committee; monitor ongoing portfolio performance.
• Prepare reports and participate in frequent meetings with company executives in the US and Central America.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: 5+ years in Investment Banking, Asset Management, Private Credit/Equity, Corporate Finance, or Financial Consulting.
• Education: Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Strong foundation in accounting with advanced financial modeling skills in Excel. Bloomberg experience is a plus.
• Languages: Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required. Portuguese is a strong advantage.
• Attributes: Excellent communication skills, ability to translate complex data into sound investment recommendations, and a strong interest in LatAm Emerging Markets.
